Second Thematic Working Group Meeting of the IABIN Invasive Alien Species Thematic Network (I3N) and National I3N Training for Costa Rica.

The meeting will take place in San Jose, Costa Rica, from November 22-23, 2006.

It will immediately follow the National Training Workshop for Costa Rica, which will take place from 20-22 November. The language for the workshop is Spanish and for the TWG is English. This is a technical meeting of institutions and individuals that are members of the TWG. However, it is also open to interested technical personnel from IABIN countries provided they cover their own expenses.

There is a single sponsorship available, on a competitive base, to a
demonstrated expert on the topic, which is paid by I3N resources through the Coordinating Institution.  In order to be considered for this
sponsorship, interested parties should contact their country IABIN Focal
Point (see http://old.iabin.net/english/governance/nfp.shtml for a list of Focal Points) and send them a letter, including a Curriculum vitae, before Thursday, 26 October 2006, requesting being nominated with copy to the IABIN Secretariat (Attention: Mr. Boris Ramírez at bramirez@iabin.net).

Nominations should be sent to the IABIN Secretariat by Focal Points no
later than Thursday, 26 October 2006. Selection of sponsored participant will take place Friday, 27 October 2006, at which point they will be contacted directly by the I3N Coordinating Institution to make travel arrangements.

For more information about the workshop, please contact Mr. Boris Ramírez, Thematic Networks Coordinators at the IABIN Secretariat
